How does the team step challenge work?

Firstly, what are Step Challenges?

Step Challenges are a chance for you to join together with your colleagues to reach a step target.

Navigating in-app

When a step challenge is active, you can find it by clicking the Challenge tab in the Movement health area.

Submitting your step data

You can join/contribute to a challenge by adding steps via the activity tracker.

The tracker will remind you that the challenge is active upon opening it and you can add your step results in multiple ways;

  1. Connect your Champion Health app to your phone health app (i.e. Apple Health or Health Connect) and your step results will be pulled through from your phone each time you open the tracker
  2. Manually add your steps into the tracker by using the slider*
  3. If you don't track your step count, you can enter Activities and the time spent doing them (e.g. 30 mins of tennis) - we will then use this information to estimate your step count

*If you’re a wheelchair user, the tracker will convert your distance into an approximate step count so you can still join and contribute to the challenge.

Once you have submitted your tracker entry, you can then view your daily and overall personal progress on the Challenge tab. You can also see how much of the challenge you’ve completed as a team and how many steps are remaining (as shown below)

Joining the leaderboard

If you want your results to stay anonymous, you can leave the leaderboard toggle set to "off" or if you want to add your results to the leaderboard, change the leaderboard toggle to "on". Your results will then be shown alongside the results that have been submitted by your colleagues. See how to do this in the video below:

Stay up to date with adding your results by setting up a tracker reminder. Learn how to do this here. It's best to set up your tracker reminder so that it reminds you to enter your results at the end of the day when you have completed your activities.
